Plain language. No legalese maze. Read this once and you'll actually understand what you're agreeing to.
By accessing or using Blackbox-Audio ("the Site", "we", "us"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Site. These terms apply to all visitors, subscribers, and users of any part of the Site.
Blackbox-Audio is a subscription-based educational content platform covering music production, promotion, label strategy, sync licensing, email marketing, crowdfunding, and industry terminology. A portion of content on each page is available free of charge as a preview. Full access to all content requires an active paid subscription at $9.99/month, processed via Stripe.
We reserve the right to modify, expand, or remove content at any time. We do not guarantee that any specific piece of content will remain available indefinitely, though our intent is to maintain and grow the knowledge base over time.
Subscriptions are billed at $9.99 per month via Stripe. Upon successful payment, access is granted via a magic link sent to your email. Enter your email on any locked page to receive a one-click login link. Keep your email address associated with your subscription private.
Subscriptions automatically renew each month unless canceled. You may cancel at any time via the Stripe billing portal. Access remains active until the end of the current billing period following cancellation. We do not offer prorated refunds for partial months unless required by applicable law - see our Refund Policy for full details.
Sharing your login link with others is a violation of these Terms and may result in immediate deactivation of your account without refund. One subscription is for one user.
You agree not to:
We reserve the right to revoke access without refund for any violation of these terms.
All content on Blackbox-Audio - including text, formatting, organization, graphics, and code - is the intellectual property of Blackbox-Audio and its creators, and is protected by applicable copyright law. You are granted a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to access and read content for your own private use as a subscriber. No other rights are granted.
Industry terminology and general music production concepts are not owned by us. Our specific written explanations, frameworks, structures, and compilations are proprietary.
All content on this Site is provided for educational and informational purposes only. Nothing on Blackbox-Audio constitutes legal, financial, business, or professional advice. Music industry results vary widely. We make no guarantees that applying any technique or strategy described on this Site will produce any specific career, financial, or commercial outcome.
The Site is provided "as is" and "as available" without any warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Blackbox-Audio and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Site or its content - even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Our total liability to you for any claim arising from use of the Site shall not exceed the amount you paid in subscription fees in the three months preceding the claim.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to any subscriber who violates these Terms, engages in fraudulent activity, or abuses the platform - at our sole discretion and without prior notice. In cases of access termination due to violations, no refund will be issued.
You may cancel your subscription at any time through the Stripe billing portal. Termination of your subscription does not delete any data we hold (see our Privacy Policy for what that consists of - which is very little).
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you disagree with any changes, your remedy is to cancel your subscription and stop using the Site.
Questions about these Terms? Reach us via the contact information listed on the Site. For billing issues, use the Stripe billing portal directly - they handle all subscription transactions.
